# Dnd Notes 10-03-21 B-Team
- We encounter a man starving in the desert who was left by the Asabi
- Ungvar approaches to give him some dog biscuits
- He warns us of tar elemental in the tar and of Netherese ruins in Anauroch
- We are being chased by a cactus monster that guards the cactus forest we destroyed
- The man tries to give us his possessions while he stays behind to fight the monster but its clearly a trap.
- At Ungvar's direction he dumps the bag which contains some papers, a large key, and a wand with faces carved into the side
- Jimco examines the papers but they are written in a different language and starts casting detect magic on the other items
- the man twin cities of ULEMA and AL-SHIEF'
- Detect magic shows the wand is obviously magical and the key is not. Jimco believes it to be a wand of smiles. He gives it to Phoenix
- We test driving the worm into the tar, when it does not resist it we push forward in the direction we were previously headed
- As we near the other side of the tar pit, one of the elementals we were warned about emerges. Infaris immediately shoots it with a firebolt.
- The elemental overwhelms Jimco and Ungvar, they are absorbed inside of it. Infaris attempts to pull them out but her magic surges and she becomes 3 years younger. She is unable to pull out Ungvar but Jimco pops out on his own due to his non-stick armor plating
- Ungvar rages and emerges from the tar as well just as Infaris fires a final final bolt killing the creature
- We see the twin cities to the north but decide it to be a silly place so we head south instead
- After spending the night in the desert we come upon a pyramid and a giant obsidian sphinx
- Examining the ruins, Jimco finds something scribbled on the wall with an arrow pointing to the back of the sphinx. He cannot read the text however
- We examine the back of the sphinx and find a hatch
