* Adam bought new books. Reasons players are absent from session:
* Stephen not here because #37: things got a little crazy last night.
* Billy investigates for recent footprints. Seems like it’s been abandoned a long time. There’s places of worship, but nothing extravagant. Seems to have been slaves or servants. Brumrik stupidly suggests robot arms to support giant sized lifestyle, but Billy intelligently identifies golem suits as the source. They find a golem warehouse and repair shop.
* A golem suit springs to life. Brumrik jumps to negotiate, and steps back (as a joke). Balricstein explains that we work for the one remaining cloud giant, to which he finds disgust. Billy sleazes in and explains “work for” is more of a “adventuring conveniently alongside” or something.
* Billy negotiates with the golem suited fellow and determines he has the same quest a us.
* The golem reveals itself as a halfling in an eyepatch and pipe and karate gee under the golem suit. HE’s been here for about 3 weeks. He’s looked up and down the main island, but not the northernmost island. He says the wizard’s tower (just west of human-town) had a lot of books.
* Billy offers to help him (Davric) if he joins us.
* Davric says we dont seem to be very good warriors, so Brumrik fires a warning shot at his face, which catches the wind and goes straight into his face. Davverick catches it and throws it back in Brumrik’s face.
* Billy finds a pair of golem...legs. Just legs.
* CoF leaves, and Davric chases after us claiming we’re fighting.
* They work things out and go to the tower.
* Seeing writing on the wall, Davric speaks some giant language and they rise to the top.
* Lots of books here about transmutation and other arcane stuff.
* Brumrik gets bored and starts knocking books around, but Billy finds the book we seek (Cloud Cities for Dummies) and a book for human sized folk which seems to be a journal. The journal seems to have belonged to Modara? He seems to have been a servant here in town chosen to help the wizard in this tower. On the side, he’s learning some of the magical abilities from the wizard. Eventually he finds out the wizard is trying to use human sacrifice to create a magical source for infinite power.
* The wizard giant was named Roswell. Modara stole this magic stone from Rosewell, seeking revenge on the giants.
* Davric chunks over and gets excited about hearing a story, Balricstein makes jerky sandwiches, and Brumrik pulls out a shitty blanket for everyone to sit on. Brumrik is gross and Davric throws up in his helmet. Billy tells a story.
* Davric tells us there’s airships, that apparently Brumrik knew about.
* Decision: get an airship, come back to wizard’s tower for the books for Davric, talk to cloud giant friend (currently in the city) and convince him to shut off the clouds, then get to Valhaven to valiantly arrive in our airship.
* CoF stealthily heads toward northlands. They run into the giant, who snorts at us.
* We wingsuit over to the castle island.
* Balricstein uses his hands as a spyglass to check out the 4 airships docked at each tower of the castle.
* There’s space pirates! A few captain looking people seem to have tentacle faces.
* Davric sketches the scene Balricstein describes.
* Humanoid sized rock n’ roll cthulus are up with the flying ships.
* Balricstein takes out the ring stolen from Thurl and hands it to Billy.
* Balricstein remembers his ring from Thurl, and discovers it is a ring of jumping. HE gives it to Billy who jumps up to an airship with a rope tied to his waist. He literally jumps onto a canon.
* Billy climbs onto the airship and finds a girl in a cage. She doesn’t say anything, but when Billy waves she frowns and half waves back.
* Her name is Asiri, and she seems to think we are here to rescue her.
* Billy busts open the cage, and she sprouts sparkly wings.
* Billy finds a chest with her belongings and very pointy spear.
* Billy gives Asiri her spear and all her other belongings.
* Asiri wants to murder everyone.
* Asiri begins murdering everyone. She has like lightning spells and shit. It’s gnarly.
* After taking out about half the people, she takes off.
* Brumwick notches one of his cool special arrows.
* Brumwick ices the mindflayer.
