## Wilfred's Journal Entry
*Excerpt from the personal journal of Wilfred of Ivanhoe*
*17th of Summertide*
The group I have thrown my lot in with was captured and I find myself freshly escaped a holding cell. This white roses group is beginning to show dark cracks where I thought strength shined. Besides capture, I fear one of my comrades, Valerian, has begun to turn away from Her flaming light and seek a friend most foul. It is a shame, as I thought him most likely to convert.
Let me try and recount from the point of capture:
As I feigned sleep, the others continuously bickered and chattered with the enemy. The guards were so distracted by Valerians incessant questioning about his sisters whereabouts and Mirabelles shameless accent that they perhaps mistook as flirtation, that they left our cells practically unguarded.
The vile knaves insulted Our Lady as they left, and mentioned something about lesser deities such as Chantae. In Her name, they will pay for those insults. I liberated two pieces of jewelry from the skeleton in my cell, which I will offer to the church at the next available chance. It is strange, the church of Our Lady of Sacred Flame seems so wealthy but constantly asks for more valuables.
A gigantic eyeball monster watched our every move until Valerian and I took it out with thrown weapons. Mirabelle flew over her cell walls and assisted us with escape, but disaster struck quickly. The key Valerian used on his door melts and burned through his bandages on his right arm. Mirabelle and I tried to help him but he ignored us. Suddenly, I detected evil emanating from the mans arm as black miasma emerged from his injuries.
As a master of deception, I moved closer to examine it while pretending to offer help. Valerian may have seen through that though, as he begged Mirabelle and I to flee. I began cutting up my blessed vestment robes to help seal his injuries, but Valerian seemed to use some sort of enchanted bandaging. I grabbed up some of his discarded older bandages from the floor of the prison, though the group saw my out-of-character clumsiness while stealthily snatching them.
I will send these bandages to the head priests at the next village we visit and get to the bottom of this. I dont mind traveling with heathens I can always convert them but I refuse to travel with some sort of possessed or evil person…
