# Numenera 01-19-25
- Calder says we have approx. 2 days until the next time jump. We decide to take a long rest since Tadej is injured. Tubora wakes up in the middle of the night and notices Calder is talking into a communicator to someone on his wrist. She listens in and hears that he is hoping to control the timeline within the next 24 hours. Tubora confronts him in the morning and he says that he was talking to the minister back on the space station, but it seems suspicious.
- We board the train and Calder asks it to go to the farming district and agriculture section. We see the only three healthy trees in a field and decide to head towards them. They are fruit trees. Logan begins to examine them and sees small fruits on them; he scans them and they are entirely synthetic.
- Logan spends 15 minutes examining the trees. BUT, he rolls a 1 and fails to spot anything. He spends 2 more hours. Tubora, in the meantime, talks with Calder and he suggests examining the fruit. The fruit are pink with purple spots, size of a tomato.
- Dan Bush uses his crown of natal jubilee to regain his edge in intellect that he lost from the deck of many things.
- Logan taps the first fruit and it lights up (after rolling a Nat 20). After lighting up 9 of these, the center tree twists and rotates, and opens a secret passage in the trunk. We go down a winding passage of stairs and eventually enter an observation deck that overlooks a large piece of machinery. It is a large cylinder with green energy flowing in and out of it. There are figures down below, manning a panel -- they are no-legged snake creatures.
- Tubora attempts to read the panels in the observation deck and learns that the other group had sent a person back in time but not as far as we typically travel. The giant cylinder below may be the time machine.
- Three of the snakes suddenly appear from the stairway and all have their weapons trained on us.
- Calder presses 26 on the mystery box to save us. He gains two harmful mutations: 42 and 100.
- 41–45 Mentally vulnerable: All Intellect defense tasks are hindered
- 93–00 Weakness in Intellect: Any time you spend points from your Intellect Pool, the cost is increased by 1 point.
- We enter combat with the snakes. Tubora pulls out her gun to shoot at them but misses. Logan slams down on the panel and presses random buttons, activating a smoke screen around Tadej and a loud speaker for the whole area. One of them shows Tubora a vision on his armor that shows a traumatic scene from her past, hurting her for 5 damage. Calder tries to shoot at the creatures too. Tadej throws a tendril grenade at the one nearest him. Logan tries to use an energy blast but fails. Tubora uses a device to protect the party from incoming tech devices -- it blocks another psychic attack from the snake at her. Tadej attacks the one nearest the door since another near him is still in tendrils. Logan mentally onslaughts it but fails. Tubora hits the tied up one with the Hand of Annihilation and kills it. Calder presses random buttons on the panel, and it seems like he dims the power in the room. One of the snakes disappears from a time change from that button. Tadej uses another cypher to stop the last snake from fleeing. Logan adds a barrier to Tadej's, making it a higher-level wall to block in the snake. Calder shoots at the snake and slightly injures it. Tadej cuts off the snake arm to grab the datapad he has. Tubora pulls out her sword and cuts down the last snake.
